Manchester United 1990-92 Shirt Authenticity Checks
The original Adidas 1990 -92 home shirt has the standard Adidas labels of the time. They are commonly produced by 2640 and 125 – these are factory numbers that produced the shirts. The shirt has the Adidas logo and Manchester United badge embossed on 90% of the shirts. There is a small number of shirts where the Adidas logo is flat and more like felt; these are also authentic.
Match worn/ player issue – Matchworn shirts have the same labels in the neck and an embroidered badge and Adidas logo. These are VERY rare.
Common Fakes – There are lots of fakes of this one. Check the labels above to verify your shirt, and look out for the following on fakes
- The size on the label is a letter “XL”
- The boots on the United badge lack the small red details
Reissue – This was remade by Adidas in the 2022/23 season. The remakes have a small Adidas label in the neck with code HP0455.
Common fakes of the remake have a blue size label in the neck with one size on it. The authentic ones have a white label with multiple sizes.
